Light & Form
As a former dancer, I’ve always been in awe of the athleticism and discipline that lives within a dancer’s body. For this project, I experimented with strobe lighting to capture that strength in motion and stillness as my models, both theatre and dance majors at the University of Wyoming, moved through a series of poses. Each image was created with a 50mm prime lens and then artistically cropped to draw the eye to the details that often go unnoticed: the taut lines of muscle, the quiet tension held in the hands and feet, the balance between power and grace. My hope is that when people view this work, they see beyond the surface delicacy that dance can project and instead recognize the relentless training and resilience that make these performers extraordinary. Beneath the beauty is a daily pursuit of perfection, an unyielding commitment to their craft that I am honored to document.
